Our Philosophy
Based on the Japanese martial arts ethos of 'Train your mind and body' and Zen disciplines of meditation, mindfulness and being in the moment, our approach to self-defence and training is unique - we offer a holistic approach to your personal safety and your development, cultivating inner power, confidence and self-awareness, in conjunction with effective physical performance and self-defence techniques.
No previous martial arts knowledge or level of fitness is required.
With your spirit settled, accumulate practice day by day, hour by
hour.
Polish the twofold spirit heart and mind, and sharpen the twofold gaze
perception and sight."
Miyamoto Musashi
To live the way of the warrior is to move through life resolved on death, ie, without fear. If you pass through life with no fear, you pass through with no possibility of failure and perform properly. People fail, don't act, don't take responsibility through fear. This is the reason why focusing on the way of the samurai, the way of the warrior, is central to the concept behind Five Rings.
If you are empowered to live life without fear, you can live life to the fullest and perform properly with virtue and no evil.
